Hughes-Stanton, Blair (British, 1902-1981), Group of 15 Wood Engravings from the book Lamentations of Jeremiah, 1933, all signed, dated, and editioned in pencil to bottom edge, smallest sheet 6.25 x 9.25 inches, largest mat 13 x 11.75 inches, all unframed. Lithographs includes: The City Mourns I, II, and II; The Sons of Zion; The Stranger; The Man; The Sons and Daughters and more. Blair was a major figure in the English wood-engraving revival in the twentieth century. He was the only son of the painter Sir Herbert Hughes-Stanton and trained at Byam Shaw school and later Hammersmith by Leon Underwood.
