(Pittsburgh History), Fort Pitt Block House, 1904, ink and watercolor on paper, signed Shoop, drawn and painted by descendants of the famous captive David Boyd (1743-1831), 5 x 7.5 inches, matted and framed 14 x 18 inches. A curious piece of Pittsburgh history with outstanding provenance. On the 10th of February, 1756, David Boyd was captured by a group of Iroquois. He spent over a year with the tribe and considered staying with them after being offered the chance to return when meeting with a group of English officers at Fort Pitt.

Condition
