19th C. Cannatille filigree card case. The intricate filigree case features a floral design on the face, with curling leaves, buds, and opening blooms. The back is decorated with a large abstract bloom. Each petal is filled with intricate wire work and surrounded by curling design. The box is hinged and finished with a push clasp. The interior of the case is fitted with pairs of loops for elastic to secure the cards. One of the elastics is present, (uncertain as to its age). Measures 3 1/2" in length, 2 3/4" wide, 5/8" deep. The case is unmarked. Sterling or 800 silver. Approx. 67.1 grams. Good condition. Minor loss of metal. Merchandise will be packed and transported by the purchaser at their own risk and expense.
