Church and Cottage in Normandy, c.1875, watercolor on paper, signed bottom left, 10.5 x 14.25 inches, mounted to a larger piece of board. // 3. Chateau in Normandy, 1878, watercolor on paper, signed and dated on the mount, 9.5 x 14.5 inches, mounted to larger sheet. Titles taken from Gignoux's own notebook where he recorded all of his works and sales -- these with his inventory numbers 43, 190 and 68, respectively, on the reverse. The Normandy region of France was a popular subject for Gignoux after he returned to his native country in 1870.
