3 Walter von Nessen (German, 1889-1943) for Chase Brass and Copper Company bookends, USA, 1930s. Includes: Set of concentric circle and sphere bookends, 5.25 x 5 x 2.5 inches; one brass and Bakelite soldier figural bookend, 7.25 x 3.75 x 3.75 inches. Provenance: Personal collection of Edward J. Grzybowski, co-owner of Tri-State Antiques in Canonsburg, PA. Ed was well known and respected in the field for his vast knowledge of antiques and decorative arts, particularly 20th century design.
