Gruber, Aaronel deRoy (American/Pittsburgh, 1918-2011), Mitosis (AG-8), painted and welded steel, 78 x 35.75 x 36 inches, apparently unsigned, Provenance: The Estate of Aaronel deRoy Gruber; Concept Art Gallery auctions. Mitosis was exhibited as part of AREA Sculpture on Ward's Island, New York, 1980, alongside select outdoor works by artists including Carl Andre and Beverly Pepper.
In good condition apart from oxidation to the base and edges of the sculpture from weather exposure, recently restored to original paint color and condition.
