The largest of the posters that Mucha designed in America. The poster announces the new play, Kassa, which tells the tale of a Hungarian virgin who intends to join a convent when she is seduced by a prince and falls pregnant. The prince abandons her and she loses her mind. The play was a flop. Leslie Carter was declared bankrupt and Mucha was never paid for this work.
In good condition, unexamined outside of the frame; light toning to the sheet; spots of light soil and creasing in the margins; small chip at middle of left edge; fading to a 2-inch tall horizontal band near the center plus other light discoloration near the center right under where the two sheets meet.
