Albers, Anni (German/American, 1899-1994), Double Weave (1925-83), 1985, screenprint on Fabriano paper, signed and dated in pencil lower right, from the edition of 120 prints plus 25 artist's proofs, this one not numbered, image 24.75 x 19.75 inches, full sheet 26.5 inches square. WEBER & DANILOWITZ 94. One of Anni Albers' two prints for the Exacta portfolio printed under the direction of Italian artist Fausta Squatriti (see last photo for reference). Made by Albers in her mid-80s, this print pays homage to one of her weavings done while at the Bauhaus in the 1920s. In all, it represents the culmination of her life's work from a Bauhaus trained textile artist to her final act as a master printmaker. Provenance: from the collection of Italian artist Manfredo Massironi.
