Antique Chinese root wood carving of a sage, presumed to be Ming Dynasty. Facial features, chest, and foot carved. Supported atop a wooden plinth. Apparently unsigned and unmarked. 14.5 x 7 x 6 inches. Plinth 1.25 x 8.25 x 5.75 inches. Provenance: Purchased by the owner from Augustin Galleries in 1983.
