Radebaugh, Arthur (1906-1974), Performer, airbrush on illustration board, signed lower left, 23 x 18.5 inches. Airbrush artist, illustrator, and futurist Arthur Radebaugh was born in Coldwater, Michigan. He briefly attended the Art Institute of Chicago where he first began experimenting with airbrush painting, a technique he helped popularize. Radebaugh was prolific in producing catalog illustrations and advertisements for several companies in the auto industry, as well as for United Airlines and Coca-Cola. He illustrated for several magazines including Motor, Esquire and Fortune, and later produced the Sunday comic strip "Closer Than We Think!".
