Dughet, attributed to Gaspard (French/Italian, 1615-1675), Italian Villa Mountainscape, 17th century, pen, brush and wash on paper, inscribed by a later hand in brown ink to lower right Pavillon des Carmes, and another illegible word in brown ink toward the bottom center written perpendicularly, sheet 7 x 12.25 inches, floated in a frame 15.5 x 20.5 inches. Apparently relates to a drawing by Dughet's teacher and brother-in-law, Poussin, of the Aventine Hill in Rome. Provenance: Rifkin-Young Fine Arts, Riverdale, NY.
