Taylor, Barnard (American/Pennsylvania, 1915-2007) Untitled Abstract, 1970, gouache on paper, signed and dated at lower right. Paper 19.5 x 28.5 inches, matted and in a 28.5 x 36.5 inch frame. Mr. Taylor studied illustration and painting at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia. He received a bachelor's degree in art from Lycoming College, Williamsport, and a master of fine arts in painting and graphics from Pennsylvania State University in 1975. Mr. Taylor worked as a graphic designer for many years at the Grit Publishing Co. in Williamsport. While in Williamsport, he and his wife, Leila, organized the first three Williamsport Arts Festivals. He also established the Press of Appletree Alley. Taylor's works have been exhibited widely in Pennsylvania and Nationwide. Provenance: Collection of Ann De Klerk and Barnard Taylor.
