Mortimer, Ruth and Sarah Black (editors), illustrated by Enid Mark, The Bewildering Thread, number 17 of 50 copies, signed by the illustrator, 1986, ELM Press, Wallingford, PA, illustrated throughout with Mark's lithographs, unbound sheets in handmade paper wrappers, all housed in the buckram slipcase with fabric onlay and title label. An anthology of poems by 14 contemporary female poets using weaving and fabric arts as metaphor. In 1986, Enid Mark founded the ELM Press, which is devoted to publishing finely crafted limited edition artist's books that feature hand-lithography, letterpress printing, and archival hand binding. Provenance: deaccessioned from a regional institution; will include a letter of deaccession from the institution.

Condition

Library bookplate, with Withdrawn stamp, tipped-in to the front blank, and a small library stamp to the bottom edge of the limitation page, otherwise a fine, clean copy, in a good slipcase that shows modest handling and fading.
