Siemon, Caleb (Contemporary American Glass Artist), Teardrop Shaped Orange Bronze Inciso Vase, blown glass and wheel cut vessel, 10.75 x 11 inches in diameter, incised with signature and date on underside, . These rare works of art use the traditional Italian technique of inciso. The name inciso refers to the linear engraving process used to carve the glass. These pieces are blown using two solid transparent colors overlaying one another. Once the piece is cooled every line is carved by hand using a v-shaped lapidary wheel. Not only is the surface texture beautiful but the effect when the outer color is carved away creates a piece with added depth and luminosity. Provenance: acquired from the artist, from the estate of Western Pennsylvania artist Charles Battaglini.
