Bio from Clark Gallery: Carole Bolsey is an abstract expressionist painter whose work features bold strokes and dominant lines. Layering oil on canvas, her gestural marks convey a sense of movement. She is known for her large—scale work of horses, barns, and boats. Her paintings offer up a unique understanding and sensitivity to the power of natural light. In recent years, several of Bosley's originals have been available as limited edition Iris prints. Carole Bolsey received a B.A. in Painting from Bennington College and has studied in both Switzerland and Italy. She has exhibited her paintings and installations in galleries and outdoor spaces in Tokyo, Miami, Annapolis, MD and Washington, DC.
