Le Brun, after Charles (French, 1619-1690), Group of 3 illustrations from A System of Physiognomy: A series of Lithographic Drawings Illustrative of the Relation Between the Human Physiognomy and that of the Brute Creation, 1827, printed by Carpenter and Engelmann Graf, lithographs after the original 17th century engravings, sheets 23.25 x 18.25 inches, unframed. Images attempt to show the physiognomical relationship between man and animals; includes Plate 29 (Bear), 17 (Camel) and 28 (Lynx). Provenance: from the estate of the pioneering tattoo artist, fine artist and sculptor Nick Bubash, Pittsburgh, PA.
