Pitcher, Charles (Charlie) (American/Western PA, 1927-2009), The Strip - Penn Avenue, 1984, watercolor and ink on paper, signed, titled and dated lower right, 21 x 29 inches, matted and framed 32 x 39.5 inches. Provenance: Pittsburgh Corporate Collection; acquired directly from the artist. A rendering of a busy street in the Strip District of Pittsburgh, showing a number of stores that have since closed, including Shiring's Meats and Tedesco's Variety Shop.
