Custom made buffet designed by the well known Pittsburgh interior designer Garth Massingill in 1970 or 1971. Made up of 3 wood cabinets designed by Charles Eames and Eero Saarinen for Red Lion Furniture Company, housed in a single piece silver metal body and set on 4 Lucite feet. The entire piece measures 35 x 110 x 18.5 inches; each individual cabinet is 21.75 x 36 inches. The cabinets are removable. No maker's marks or labels. Provenance: designed by Massingill for the current consignor's family. A one of a kind modernist statement piece, incorporating 3 very rare and early MCM cabinets.
Condition
In good condition, sturdy and presents well; some interior cracks to the Lucite; some light scuffing, finish loss and signs of use to the drawers; metal body with small areas of use/oxidation.
