Miller, Dan (American/Pennsylvania, contemporary), Artaud, undated, woodcut on thin paper, titled, signed, and marked 8/45 to bottom edge in pencil, image 18 x 9 inches, full sheet 20.5 x 11.5 inches, unframed. Dan Miller received an MFA degree in painting from the University of Pennsylvania in 1958 and graduated from Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts the following year. Since returning to PAFA as a faculty member in 1964, he has served as instructor in art history, painting and printmaking. Image is of the French writer Antonin Artaud. Provenance: from the estate of the pioneering tattoo artist, fine artist and sculptor Nick Bubash, Pittsburgh, PA.
