Roberts, after David, lithographed by Louis Haghe, Pair of Prints from The Holy Land: Obelisk of Luxor and Interior of the Temple of Aboo Simbel, both copyrighted 1846 by F. G. Moon, later hand coloring, image sizes 19.25 x 12.75 inches, sheets 23.75 x 17 inches, matted and framed 25 x 30 inches. David Roberts traveled the Middle East and North Africa, particularly Egypt from 1838-1839 and sketched many scenes that he made into watercolors and that were then reproduced in a series of 247 lithographs titled The Holy Land, Syria, Idumea, Arabia, Egypt and Nubia, 1842-1849.
Condition
