She received a BA from Stephens College followed by a BFA (1942) from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, where she studied under Grant Wood (1891-1942). Additionally, she studied with Fletcher Martin (1904-1979) and print making under Adolph Dehn (1895-1968) both of whom strongly influenced her work. Furthermore, she studied under Robert Brackman (1898-1980) whose influence can also been seen in her work. in seemingly good condition unexamined outside of the frame.
