Stotz, Charles Morse, The Early Architecture of Western Pennsylvania: A Record of Building Before 1860 Based Upon the Western Pennsylvania Architectural Survey, 1936, first edition, one of 1000 copies, hardcover, small folio, bound in 3/4 leather and the original red cloth boards especially for Arthur V. Stanley, with his name in gilt on the front board, marbled endpapers, gilt titles, published by William Helburn for the Buhl Foundation, illustrated throughout with black and white drawings and photos plus large fold-out map in the back. Interestingly, Luke Swank served as the photographic adviser. Bookplate of another former owner, the Pittsburgh designer Garth Massengill, affixed to the front pastedown.

Condition
