Slaney, Elizabeth (Betty) (British, 1922-2012), One Liner I-III, triptych, 1984, acrylic paint on Plexiglass, apparently unsigned, titled on the verso and accompanying labels, uniformly framed in brushed metal 24 x 24 inches. Slaney's art has machine like precision, but was all done by the hand of a mathematically sophisticated artist. Provenance: The personal collection of Edward J. Grzybowski. Ed was co-owner of Tri-State Antiques in Canonsburg. He was well known and respected in the field for his vast knowledge of antiques and decorative arts, particularly 20th century design.
Condition
In seemingly good condition, unexamined outside of the frames; backing boards stained and starting to yellow in places, should be replaced soon.
