Grand Tour micro mosaic set in black slate plaque, Italian, mid/late 19th century. Finely executed depiction of the Capitoline Doves/Doves of Pliny, polychrome tesserae set in shaped black slate. Unsigned. Label on the verso. 6 x 8 x 1 inches . Provenance: Collection of a Pittsburgh Gentleman, Pittsburgh, PA.
