Francis J. Nowalk (American/Pittsburgh, PA, 1928-2024) custom designed iron and marble hall table. Variegated green marble square top. Iron base reminiscent of the designs of Pittsburgh, PA bridges. While earning his way through Duquesne University in 1948, Francis J. Nowalk opened a small lighting business to capitalize on an early interest in lighting design. Since that time, he has been recognized as one of the highest skilled metal craft experts in Western Pennsylvania. His work in design and restoration can be found in public and private buildings across the region including Heinz Hall, the Duquesne Club, Frick Museum, the Arcade Shops, St. Paul's Cathedral, Rolling Rock Country Club, Allegheny Country Club, the Andy Warhol Museum, and countless residences. Provenance: commissioned by Louis Talotta for a prominent Pittsburgh family.
