Mitchell, Joan (American, 1925-1992) and Francis, Sam (American, 1923-1994) and Walasse Ting (Chinese/American, 1929-2010), Fresh Air School Portfolio, 1972, complete with one original color lithograph by each of the three artists, number 19 of 30 sets SIGNED by each artist. Francis and Ting signed and numbered directly on their lithos; Mitchell's signed at the header of her text section rather than on the litho. All are double-page and measure 15 x 22 inches. Published by the Museum of Art, Carnegie Institute, Pittsburgh; lithos printed by Maeght, Paris; introduction by the museum's director Leon A. Arkus. The portfolio is complete, including text and many b&w illustrations, all housed in the original blue covers; pages loose, as issued. One of only 30 signed copies of this portfolio that Arkus prepared for friends of the museum. Provenance: from the estate of a former director of the Carnegie Museum of Art.
