Kosaka, Gajin (Japanese 1877-1953), Buddha's Garden, circa 1950, woodcut, 8 x 10.5 inches, framed in a black wood frame measuring 16 x 18.5 inches, Born in Kyoto, went to live in Tokyo 1907, began making woodcuts in 1922 and showed at Japan Creative Print Society exhibitions, later also at Kokuga-kai exhibitions. One man shows 1950 in Los Angeles and 1952 in Paris; memorial exhibition traveled in Europe and America 1956.
