His style, in the tradition of Louis-Maurice Boutet de Monvel’s children’s illustration, was closest to his contemporary Francisque Poulbot (1879 - 1946). Marechaux illustrated books, periodicals, all manners of ephemera (announcements, tin boxes, menus…) as well as posters and postcards.
