Nama, George (American/Pittsburgh/New York, 1939-2025), Knotted Bridge, 1972, painted cast aluminum, stone and wood columns, apparently unsigned, total dimensions 52 x 46 x 6 inches; dimensions without wood columns are 12 x 43.5 x 2.75 inches. All of the pieces are freestanding - nothing is attached. TOGETHER WITH Framed group of 4 preparatory drawings for the sculpture, each one initialed and dated 1972, frame size 11 x 40 inches. Provenance: personal collection of the well known Pittsburgh architect Arthur Lubetz. Lubetz and Nama were longtime friends and collaborators.
In good condition. Inherent pitting and oxidation to the metal sections. Old glue strengthening to the stone. Inherent wear to the wood columns.
