Sotter, George (American/Pennsylvania, 1879-1953), Pittsburgh - River and Mill Scene, 1907, oil on canvas, relined, signed and dated lower right, 18 x 16 inches, in a period hand carved gilt wood frame 23 x 21 inches. Provenance: J. J. Gillespie Gallery, Pittsburgh, with label remnants present; private ownership; Gratz Gallery, Bucks County, PA; private collection, Western PA. One of the earliest Sotter paintings to come up to auction.
In good condition, relined; professionally cleaned recently, also some old craquelure has been stabilized and small areas of inpainting done to the corners and that sit under the frame edges.
