Artist's bio from artnet.com: Gerd Winner is a German artist best known for his Photorealist screenprints of buildings, roads, and other urban motifs. His inventive work as a printmaker featured simplified palettes which lent a nostalgic or surreal appearance to his work, all while maintaining a grounded sense of realism. Born on October 8, 1936 in Braunschweig, Germany, Winner went on to study at the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin. He created several large-scale public art pieces, some of which are installations based on the architectural motifs found in his prints. Today, Winner’s works are found in the collections of The Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Tate Gallery in London, among others. He lives and works in Liebenburg, Germany. In apparently good condition unexamined outside of the frame, apart from some paper warping at upper edge areas. Frame with some abrasions and accretions.
