Davis, William Glen (American/Pittsburgh, 20th Century), Untitled Brutalist Sculpture, 1970s, welded metal with suspended glass sphere, on a wooden base, apparently unsigned. 13.75 x 3.75 x 3.75 inches. Glen Davis was an active member of Pittsburgh's Group A, an artist collective whose purpose was to advance the acceptance of abstract art in Pittsburgh. Davis was an accountant by trade, and sold very few works of art during his lifetime. Provenance: The personal collection of Edward J. Grzybowski. Ed was co-owner of Tri-State Antiques in Canonsburg. He was well known and respected in the field for his vast knowledge of antiques and decorative arts, particularly 20th century design.
Condition
