Brockmann, Gottfried (German, 1903-1983), Man Reading, 1929, etching on paper, signed, dated, titled (in German) and with an additional inscription in pencil at the bottom margin to Herr Kugelmann, impression 11.5 x 10 inches, matted and framed 24 x 20 inches. Brockmann's work can be found in various public museum collections including Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), Berlinische Galerie, Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden, and others. Provenance: gift of the artist to a Jewish German family (the Kugelmanns) that fled Europe in 1936.
