Brockmann, Gottfried (German, 1903-1983), Bilderbogen der Zeit I. Arbeiter [Images of the Time, I. Workers], 1927, inscribed by Brockmann to Herr Kugelmann on the second page, bound volume of 15 linocuts on brown paper, published by Westdeutsche Verlagsdruckerei, Dusseldorf, in original staplebound wraps, introduction by Dr. R. Albrecht, 11.5 x 9 inches. Brockmann's work can be found in various public museum collections including Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), Berlinische Galerie, Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden, and others. Provenance: gift of the artist to a Jewish German family (the Kugelmanns) that fled Europe in 1936.
