Gregoire, After Jean-Louis (French, 1840-1890), Man and Woman, late 19th century, a large and heavy bronze sculpture attached to pedestal, figures 18 x 12 x 8 inches, overall 20.5 x 18 x 10 including base, signed L. Gregoire on base, powerful image of a male suitor who has been gracefully, but unequivocally, rejected by the female, clothing and footwear suggests a scene from ancient Rome.
