An Exhibition of Oil Paintings by Helen Frankenthaler, January 26th-March 2nd, The Jewish Museum, 1960, softcover, stapled wraps, 7 x 9 inches, 20 pp., color illustration mounted to the front wrap, inside with 10 black and white photos of her paintings plus a portrait of the artist. First edition. The rare exhibition catalog for Frankenthaler's first ever solo museum show. Also notable for the 3 page introduction by the famous poet and art writer Frank O'Hara. A rare and important catalog, with no others currently for sale online and none in auction records. Frankenthaler had solo shows at 2 NYC galleries before, but this was the first one in a museum setting.
