Pushman, Hovsep (Armenian/American, 1877-1966), My Past Dreams, Date: circa 1945, medium: oil on canvas, Dimensions: 23.5 x 18 inches. With accompanying photocopy of a photograph and letter on the reverse dated November 29, 1948 from Pushman regarding the Painting: …In the center of this painting, I have placed a wooden figure of ancient Chinese origin, polychromed, clad in vermillion. Beside it, rests and iridescent vase. The figure, meditating casts a shadow over the background giving a mysterious mood to the composition. What are his past dreams?... Signature: Signed Pushman lower right, labeled on stretcher reverse #451 My Past Dreams No. 3. Provenance: Acquired from the Artist, N.Y.C. Frame Type: beautiful Period "Pushman" frame 29.5 x 24 inches.
