Isamu Noguchi handmade washi paper and bamboo Akari Light Sculpture. Designed by Noguchi beginning in 1951. Paper globe shade with bamboo ribbing supported by a metal frame. In original box with instructions. The shade is stamped Made in Japan, I. Noguchi, along with the sun and moon Akari mark. The shade is 11.5 x 12 inches, and the box is 1.25 x 13.25 x 13.25 inches.
The shade is in very good condition, and has never been opened. The box has a few minor dents. Merchandise will be packed and transported by the purchaser at their own risk and expense. A list of recommended shippers is on our website: https://www.conceptgallery.com/auctions/shipping/ .
