Battaglia, G. (Gaetano), after a painting by Nicholas Lancret, Majolica (Maiolica) Polychrome Charger, c.1875, handpainted ceramic, diameter 15.5 inches, smudged blue signature on the underside G. Battaglia with other illegible marks, the image is after Nicholas Lancret's painting The Earth II from the 1730s.
Old repairs to the lower left area; otherwise in good condition with a stable network of crazing, and a few fleabites along the rim.
