Lawman, Jasper Holman (American/Ohio/Pittsburgh, 1825-1906), 2 paintings: Country Houses - Spring and Winter, 1878, pastel and watercolor on paper, both signed and dated in the lower corner, 28.5 x 10 inches, uniformly matted and framed 36 x 16.5 inches. Lawman was a contemporary of George Hetzel and the other Scalp Level School artists. His paintings are held by the Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh and the Westmoreland Museum of American Art, Greensburg, PA, among other institutions. However, they rarely turn up on the market.
In seemingly good condition, unexamined outside of the frames; both with small visible areas of discoloration from moisture.
