Dropcho, John Joseph (American/Western PA, 1932-2021), Changeable, c.1980, acrylic on canvas, signed lower right, also signed and titled on the stretcher bar, 42 x 50 inches, in a wood strip frame. Dropcho was appointed to the Art Department at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) in 1966, where, for 25 years, he taught painting, drawing, theater design arts and wood crafting at the graduate and undergraduate levels. During his tenure, John was awarded the Distinguished Faculty Award for Creative Arts and given the title of professor emeritus upon his retirement in 1991.
