John Vesey (American, 1924-1992) for John Vesey, Inc. adjustable Napoleonic Campaign chair and bench/ottoman, USA, 1958. Brown leather upholstered seats, back rests, and strips. Matte steel frames. Backs welted and buttoned. 39 x 22 x 38 inches. Provenance: Chair purchased directly from John Vesey, Inc. by prominent Pittsburgh architect and designer Herb Seigle in 1958, copy of the original receipt is included; personal collection of Edward J. Grzybowski, co-owner of Tri-State Antiques in Canonsburg, PA. Ed was well known and respected in the field for his vast knowledge of antiques and decorative arts, particularly 20th century design.
In good vintage condition, apart from abrasions throughout the leather. Some accretions and oxidation on frames.
