John W. Carpenter (1885-1961) for McKay Company magazine rack, USA, 1933. 11 x 22 x 10 inches. Chrome plated and enameled steel. Apparently unmarked. Approximately 11 x 22 x 10 inches. Examples of this design are in the permanent collections of The Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh, PA; and the Minneapolis Institute of Art, Minneapolis, MN. Provenance: Personal collection of Edward J. Grzybowski, co-owner of Tri-State Antiques in Canonsburg, PA. Ed was well known and respected in the field for his vast knowledge of antiques and decorative arts, particularly 20th century design.
