Beuys, Joseph (German, 1921-1986), Iphigenia/Titus Andronicus [Iphigenie], 1985, photographic positive and negative and paint between glass plates in artist's iron frame, an artist's proof apart from the edition of 45 published by Edition Schellmann, Munich and New York, signed and marked AP 5/5 on a piece of black paper now housed in a mylar protector. Frame size 28.25 x 21.5 inches. A rare Beuys piece on the market, as most of the edition is held across major art institutions, including the Museum of Modern Art, The Broad, Walker Art Center, Princeton and Yale University Galleries, the Pinakotheken, MFA Houston, Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles and the National Galleries of Scotland among others.
