Appel, Karel Christiaan (Dutch, 1921-2006), Woman with Ghost, 1966, oil on canvas, 25 x 31.5 inches, signed lower left, additionally titled, signed and dated on the upper stretcher bar. Provenance: Martha Jackson Gallery, N.Y. with attached paper label on reverse; The Estate of Jacquelin Wechsler. A very strong CoBrA figural composition during one of Appel's strongest periods.
