Phillips, Ken (American/Pittsburgh, d.2020), Stained Glass Window Screen with floral and bird scene, c.1986, made from Youghiogheny glass, mahogany stand and surround, glass section measures 41 x 29 inches, entire piece 57.5 x 34.5 inches. Provenance: acquired directly from the artist. A 1969 graduate of CMU Department of Architecture and Engineering, Phillips pursued a career in stained glass after graduation. His Tiffany style lamps and windows received national recognition. After being featured in several art magazines, in 1979 Jim Henson of the Muppets commissioned him to make a Kermit the Frog window and a skylight window featuring what Kermit might see from his lily pad for his new headquarters in NYC.
