Toyohara Kunichika (Japanese, 1835-1900), Five Daughters of Flowers and Incense, Ukiyo-e Kabuki Triptych, 19th century color woodblocks, each sheet approximately 13.75 x 9.25 inches, unframed and sheets are not attached. Provenance: purchased in Japan before 1910. Made circa 1884, portraits of five kabuki beauties. The actors are Ichikawa Sadanji as Okoma, Onoe Kikugoro as Owan, Takaya Takasuke as Oshichi, Nakamura Fukusuke as Osome, and Nakamura Shikan as Konami. Deep red backgrounds with floral designs.

Condition
