Nevers French Faience Handed Urn, c. late 18th or early 19th century, blue and manganese glazed ceramic, 15.5 inches tall, marked on underside N 259 / 144, with an elaborate hunt scene of a man on a boar hunt after an etching by Antonio Tempesta on one side and an Italian harbor scene on the other, with grotesque masks at the bottom of the handles and wide bands of scrollwork decoration on the pedestal base and handles.
Condition
In good condition with stable, age appropriate crazing and some minor firing flaws overall; no visible chips, cracks or repairs.
