Jaele, Curtio (pseud of Conradus Goeddaeus), Laus Ululae ad conscriptos Ululantium patres and patronos. Glaucopoli (Deventer? Netherlands), c. 1642, presumed First Edition. Hardcover, 12mo. (5 x 2.75 inches), contemporary full vellum, handwritten title and paper label on spine. Woodcut vignette of owl looking in the mirror on title page, and a larger woodcut of the same image toward the end of the book. 170, (5) pp. Latin text with some Greek and Hebrew type. Well preserved copy of this famous work translated as In Praise of the Owl.
