Nevelson, Louise (Ukrainian/American, 1899-1988), The Circus Wagon, c.1955, etching with hand applied watercolor on cream wove paper, signed, titled and numbered 1/20 in pencil to the lower margin, image size 15 x 17.5 inches, matted and framed 22.5 x 25 inches. Baro 4. The non-color edition of this print was done at Atelier 17 in Paris. One of Nevelson's rarest and earliest prints. Provenance: Albert Argentieri, New Jersey, friend of the artist; thence by descent, private collection, New Jersey; Swann, June 2020. Albert photographed Louise, her artworks and sculptures and would collect wooden pieces from abandoned buildings and other locations for Nevelson to use in her sculptures.
Condition
